Australia’s first hemp-water beverage designed to enhance hydration and health has been launched to market. And early demand is very promising.
Teaming up with a pharmaceutical lab, +hemp is claimed to be produced from high-quality Australian-grown hemp.
The ingredients in +hemp include water, hemp oil, natural flavour, xanthan gum and natural colour (chlorophyll). It contains beneficial antioxidants, amino acids and is high in omega-3, omega-6 essential acids and vitamins B1, B2, B6, B12, D and E.
+hemp is 100 per cent vegan and gluten free, says the manufacturer, and has no added sugar, no preservatives, no dairy and no soy. It is also tetrahydrocannabinol-free – ie, has no psychoactive or hallucinogenic effects – and is produced legally as a hemp food product under Australian law.
Just days after being launched earlier in the month, the brains behind +hemp, Natalie Moubarak (pictured), says the product is already stocked in 46 retailers, including selected IGA supermarkets and BP petrol stations, and is on track to sell 65,000 units by Christmas.
Ms Moubarak says she has plans to release new flavours of her hemp water later this year – and to expand globally.
