Weekly diesel prices

The average price of diesel fuel in Australia rose by 2.3¢ to 156¢ a litre nationally in the week ending September 16, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Diesel Prices’ report.

The average national weekly metropolitan retail price rose by 2.4¢ to 156.3¢ a litre, with the regional price also rising by 2.3¢ to 155.9¢ a litre.

The most expensive fuel in the country was in the NT at 166.9¢ a litre, followed by Tasmania (162.6¢), WA (157.7¢), Queensland (155.4¢), Victoria (155.4¢), NSW/ACT (155.2¢) and SA (154.4¢).

Of the major cities, Adelaide offered the cheapest diesel for the week at 150¢ a litre, followed by Sydney (154.1¢), Darwin (155.3¢), Brisbane (156.1¢), Melbourne (156.6¢), Perth (157.6¢), Canberra (158.2¢) and Hobart (162.2¢).
