Maxibon takes over Hugo’s Deli

Following the return of Maxibon Peanut Jams with Butter (PBJ Bon) last month after thousands of Aussies petitioned on social media for its return, Maxibon are granting another tasty wish.

The brand will be giving away 10,000 PBJ Bons this weekend (27-28 April) and is also partnering with cult Melbourne sandwich joint Hugo’s Deli to celebrate the nutty-jammy flavour combo.

Taking Aussies on a flavour-packed sandwich journey, Maxibon’s makeover of Hugo’s Deli will highlight the “glorious depths” of one the most iconic flavour duos ever, peanut butter and jam, via a bespoke menu for the weekend.

Featuring free PBJ Bons, the menu will also offer a limited-edition new Hugo’s sandwich, appropriately called the PBJ Sanga*, featuring southern fried chicken, buttery peanut butter, and cherry and pepper berry glaze for $18.50. Signature Hugo’s Deli coffees will also be served for those who’d like the caffeine hit (from $4.50).

“Australians have already fallen in love with our remastered creation, PBJ Bon, so we thought we’d give back to those who never gave up on the cult-classic flavour eight years ago, by giving out 10,000 of them,” explains Maxibon Brand Manager, Stephanie Chosich.

“Sandwich delis are having a real moment right now too, so it felt right to partner with one of the best in Melbourne, Hugo’s Deli, to deliver our free beloved bons. It really is a tale of two sandwich legends coming together and we can’t wait to see thousands of Aussies turn out to share the experience with us.”

The free PBJ Bons and custom menu will be available between 10am-5pm on Saturday and Sunday at Hugo’s Deli, Richmond, Victoria, while stocks last.

PBJ Bons are available in single serves and 4-packs now at Woolworths, Coles and independent grocery stores and P&C.
