Subway drive-thrus launch in WA

Subway has launched its 34th drive-thru in Australia at Subway Falcon, south of Perth. It’s the first time the format has been brought to Western Australia, marking an exciting new chapter for Subway in the west.

“The drive-thru function was the missing piece in our mission to make ordering Subway as convenient as possible for our guests,” says Director of Franchise Performance for Subway in Western Australia, Matt Brownhill.

“With the drive-thru format, you can not only order your Subway favourites from the comfort of your car, but you can also Click and Collect Subway through drive-thru too.”

Before adding the drive-thru feature, Subway Falcon had been operating as a standalone traditional restaurant since late 2000s.

Franchisee, Luke Anderson has been the owner of the restaurant since 2021 and says the response to the new offering has been phenomenal.

“Being in front of the Miami Plaza Shopping Centre allows shoppers and locals to stop in more easily and more regularly. We’re loving seeing our regular guests trying out the new feature as well as many new customers too,” he says.

The store has seen an increase in both traffic and sales since launching the drive-thru last Wednesday. Mr Anderson says it shows that, “when you focus on what the guest wants and how we can make the ordering experience easier for them, they are more likely to want to shop with us”.

With the first Subway drive-thru for WA now open and operating, Mr Brownhill say he’s had interest from many other franchisees wanting to explore the offering for their own restaurants.

“Our network of dedicated franchisees are always looking for ways to reinvest in their restaurants to offer better food, more value and convenience and overall, more feel-good experiences to our guests,” he says.

“We hope to be able to offer the drive-thru format at more Subway restaurants very soon!”
