Lord of The Fries features Harvest Gourmet Plant-Based Schnitzel on the menu

Leading plant-based fast-food restaurant, Lord of The Fries, has introduced schnitzel to its menu – with a limited-edition collaboration with the new Harvest Gourmet Plant-Based Schnitzel by Nestlé Professional.

For a limited time, Lord of the Fries is offering new customised Harvest Gourmet Plant-Based Schnitzel menu items across its 17 Australian stores. In September and October 2022, one unique menu item will be available each month.

Designed for Aussie tastebuds, the new Harvest Gourmet Plant-Based Schnitzel has a crunchy, golden crumb seasoned with turmeric and paprika, and was chosen as the first plant-based schnitzel to grace the Lord of The Fries menu.

Harvest Gourmet launched its Plant-Based Schnitzel offering earlier this year, as the newest edition to its range. It contains more fibre and 28 per cent less sodium per 100 grams when compared to traditional chicken schnitzel[1], and is vegan, halal certified, and has no artificial colours or flavours. Harvest Gourmet’s Plant-Based Schnitzel is also high in protein, with 18 grams of protein per serve.

The collaboration between Lord of The Fries and Harvest Gourmet celebrates the versatility of the humble ‘chicken’ schnitty, and provides vegans, flexitarians, and everyone in between, the experience of enjoying a classic chicken schnitzel.

According to Nestlé Professional Corporate Development Chef Elke Travers, the flavour, texture and similarity to traditional chicken schnitzel, was what drew Lord of The Fries to introduce Harvest Gourmet Plant-Based Schnitzel to its menu.

“This collaboration is targeted at the growing flexitarian market who want to reduce their meat intake, whilst still enjoying all the things they love about chicken schnitzel,” Ms Travers said.

“Our Harvest Gourmet range delivers nutritious and delicious plant-based food alternatives – leveraging more than 30 years of global Nestlé research and development. The Plant-Based Schnitzel has been created by chefs, for chefs, so out-of-home operators can offer diners delicious plant-based dishes worth talking about.”

Available in September, the Schnitzel Spicy Crunch Burger is made with Harvest Gourmet Plant-Based Schnitzel, pickled slaw, cheese and spicy mayo.

October will see the new Schnitzel BLT – the classic BLT with an upgrade – featuring the Harvest Gourmet Plant-Based Schnitzel, bacon, lettuce, tomato, mayo and tomato sauce in a nine-inch seeded sub.
