Coles will trial a new convenience store format in three Melbourne locations in what may be the first of many new convenience stores.
As reported by The Australian, the stores at service stations in Kew, South Yarra and Windsor have been dubbed ‘Big Yum at Little Coles’ and will present a new convenience offering. This will include 80¢ coffee, a range of convenience meals under the Coles Brand, and an extended range of healthier on-the-go options, such as bananas, wraps and sushi.
The stores will also introduce a ‘Guzzle Bomb’ frozen-drink machine. All non-food products will be moved to Coles’ everyday pricing, according to the article.
“We are closely watching the performance of these proof-of-concept sites and will look to incorporate successful elements of the format elsewhere in the store network,’’ Coles Express Director Simon McDowell told The Australian.
