Cadbury Australia pledged it support for the nation’s Olympic and Paralympic athletes as the teams’ Official Chocolate Partner for Tokyo 2020, earlier in the year.
Despite the events being postponed, Cadbury will continue to support the teams at home, and encourage all Australians to join as each athlete prepares to compete on the world stage in Tokyo next year.
8 July Cadbury unveiled its Bonus Smart Watch Initiative, encouraging people to enjoy fun and light-hearted activities with family and friends, whilst taking care of their overall wellbeing. For two weeks in store at Coles, Cadbury fans will have the opportunity to participate and redeem one of 25,000 Smart Watches.
“While the excitement that comes with the Olympics and Paralympics has been put on hold for 12 months, our Smart Watch giveaway offers people a fun tool they can use to help them stay active as life slowly returns to normal,” explains Senior Marketing Manager at Mondelez Australia, Kathy De Lullo.
“We’ll be partnering with some amazing Australian athletes to encourage people to spend some time on their wellbeing during a period when we’ve had so many other things to focus on.”
Track and Field Paralympian, Vanessa Low says that while the postponement of the Games has thrown up some challenges, she’s working hard to maintain her focus.
“If my accident and the loss of my legs has taught me one thing, it’s that life always turns out differently to what we planned and sometimes that change of plans turns out to be our biggest opportunity.
“I’m taking time to grow, learn something new and form new habits of mindfulness and self-reflection to help maintain my wellbeing.”
The Bonus Smart Watch functionality can help users plan their day and take the time they need to stay active. For example, the Smart Watch may assist with monitoring the effectiveness of meditation with its heart rate monitor and can track activity and movement via its step counter. It can also help with scheduling regular breaks through its reminder function and can track sleep quality when used in combination with a smart phone.
