Weekly petrol prices

The average price of unleaded petrol in Australia stayed at 119.4¢ a litre nationally in the week ending 5 July, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Petrol Prices’ report.

The average national weekly metropolitan retail price stayed at 119.3¢ a litre, with the regional price dropping by 0.1¢ to 119.5¢ a litre.

The most expensive unleaded in the country was in Northern Territory at 131.2¢ a litre, followed by Queensland (130.3¢), Tasmania (124.0¢), Western Australia (120.7¢), NSW/ACT (117.2¢), South Australia (116.1¢), and Victoria (113.2¢).

Of the major cities, Melbourne offered the cheapest unleaded for the week at 112.5¢ a litre, followed by Sydney (114.6¢), Adelaide (115.2¢), Canberra (118.5¢), Darwin (119.1¢), Perth (120.4¢), Hobart (123.1¢), and Brisbane (136.2¢).
