The average price of unleaded petrol in Australia increased by 1.5¢ to 120.2¢ a litre nationally in the week ending July 31, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Petrol Prices’ report.
The average national weekly metropolitan retail price increased 2.3¢ to 119.8¢ a litre, with the regional price decreasing 0.1¢ to 121¢ a litre.
The most expensive fuel in the country was in Queensland at 125.2¢ a litre, followed by Victoria (124.3¢), Tasmania (123.1¢), the NT (121¢), WA (118.5¢), NSW/ACT (118.3¢), and SA (103.2¢).
Of the major cities, Adelaide offered the cheapest fuel for the week at 99.4¢ a litre, followed by Sydney (116.8¢), Perth (117¢), Darwin (118.4¢), Hobart (123.1¢), Canberra (125.2¢), Brisbane (125.3¢), and Melbourne (125.7¢).
