Petrol price update

The average price of unleaded petrol in Australia decreased 5.8¢ to 109.3¢ a litre nationally in the week ending February 21, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Petrol Prices’ report.

The average national weekly metropolitan retail price decreased 7.5¢ to 107.1¢ a litre, with the regional price decreasing 2.6¢ a litre to 113.7¢ a litre.

The most expensive fuel in the country was in the NT at 121.8¢ a litre, followed by Tasmania (121.2¢), WA (111.9¢), Queensland (109.6¢), Victoria (109.2¢), NSW/ACT (108.9¢), and SA (101.8¢).

Of the major cities, Adelaide offered the cheapest fuel for the week at 97.5¢ a litre, followed by Sydney (105.8¢), Brisbane (106.6¢), Perth (108.5¢), Melbourne (108.9¢), Canberra (118.3¢), Darwin (119.9¢), and Hobart (120.8¢).
