Weekly petrol prices

The average price of unleaded petrol in Australia fell 11.2¢ to 192.9¢ a litre nationally in the week ending 24 July, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Petrol Prices’ report.

The average national weekly metropolitan retail price fell 13.1¢ to 189.9¢ a litre, while the regional price fell 7.3¢ to 199¢ a litre.

The most expensive unleaded in the country was in the Northern Territory at 217.1¢ a litre, followed by Victoria (202.5¢), Tasmania (201.4¢), NSW/ACT (192¢), Queensland (189.4¢), South Australia (183.7¢), and Western Australia (182.9¢).

Of the major cities, Perth offered the cheapest unleaded for the week at 176.2¢ a litre, followed by Adelaide (179.7¢), Brisbane (184¢), Sydney (185.7¢), Hobart (202.3¢), Melbourne (203.6¢), Darwin (207.4¢), and Canberra (216.4¢).
