The average price of unleaded petrol in Australia rose 3.5¢ to 144.5¢ a litre nationally in the week ending April 14, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Petrol Prices’ report.
The average national weekly metropolitan retail price rose 4.9¢ to 145.3¢ a litre, with the regional price rising 0.7¢ to 142.8¢ a litre.
The most expensive unleaded in the country was in the NT at 150.8¢ a litre, followed by Victoria (150.3¢), Tasmania (148.9¢), Queensland (144.8¢), WA (144.7¢), SA (140.9¢) and NSW/ACT (140¢).
Of the major cities, Sydney offered the cheapest unleaded for the week at 139.1¢ a litre, followed by Darwin (139.3¢), Adelaide (140.1¢), Canberra (142.9¢), Perth (143.9¢), Brisbane (144.9¢), Hobart (147.7¢) and Melbourne (153.8¢).
