The average price of diesel fuel in Australia rose 0.7¢ to 163.6¢ a litre nationally in the week ending 7 November, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Diesel Prices’ report.
The average national weekly metropolitan retail price rose by 0.8¢ to 162.9¢ a litre, while the regional price rose 0.6¢ to 164.2¢ a litre.
The most expensive diesel in the country was in the Northern Territory at 175.8¢ a litre, followed by Tasmania (170.2¢), Western Australia (163.9¢), Queensland (163.4¢), NSW/ACT (163.1¢), Victoria (162.6¢), and South Australia (162.3¢).
Of the major cities, Adelaide offered the cheapest diesel for the week at 159.7¢ a litre, followed by Sydney (161.2¢), Melbourne (162.1¢), Perth (162.7¢), Brisbane (163.8¢), Canberra (166.8¢), Darwin (165.6¢), and Hobart (172¢).
