Weekly petrol prices

The average price of unleaded petrol in Australia fell 2.1¢ to 166.7¢ a litre nationally in the week ending 7 November, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Petrol Prices’ report.

The average national weekly metropolitan retail price fell 3.4¢ to 166.6¢, while the regional price rose 0.4¢ to 166.9¢ a litre.

The most expensive unleaded in the country was in the Northern Territory at 176.9¢ a litre followed by Tasmania (174.8¢), Western Australia (171.9¢), NSW/ACT (168.1¢), Victoria (165.4¢), Queensland (164.3¢), and South Australia (160.3¢).

Of the major cities, Adelaide offered the cheapest unleaded for the week at 158.7¢ a litre, followed by Brisbane (163.7¢), Melbourne (166.3¢), Sydney (167.8¢), Darwin (169.3¢), Canberra (171.4¢), Perth (172.4¢), and Hobart (175.2¢).
