The average price of diesel fuel in Australia rose by 0.2¢ to 151.4¢ a litre nationally in the week ending May 26, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Diesel Prices’ report.
The average national weekly metropolitan retail price rose by 0.1¢ to 150.6¢ a litre, while the regional price rose by 0.3¢ to 152¢ a litre.
The most expensive fuel in the country was in the NT at 163.9¢ a litre, followed by Tasmania (161.1¢), WA (152.9¢), NSW/ACT (151.1¢), SA (151¢), Queensland (150.8¢) and Victoria (149¢).
Of the major cities, Darwin offered the cheapest diesel for the week at 148.5¢ a litre, followed by Sydney (149.1¢), Melbourne (149.3¢), Adelaide (149.3¢), Perth (151.3¢), Brisbane (151.5¢), Canberra (154.2¢) and Hobart (160.2¢).
