Weekly diesel prices

The average weekly diesel fuel price in Australia rose 1.3¢ to 205.7¢ a litre nationally in the week ending 2 October, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Diesel Prices’ report.

The average national weekly metropolitan retail price rose 1¢ to 204.1¢ a litre, while the regional price rose 1.5¢ to 207.1¢ a litre.

The most expensive diesel in the country was in the Northern Territory at 222.7¢ a litre, followed by Tasmania (209.6¢), NSW/ACT (207.9¢), Queensland (205.6¢), Victoria (205.2¢), South Australia (203.3¢), and Western Australia (201.3¢).

Of the major cities, Perth offered the cheapest diesel for the week at 197.6¢ a litre, followed by Adelaide (199.2¢), Melbourne (204.4¢), Brisbane (205.4¢), Darwin (206.3¢), Sydney (206.5¢), Canberra (210.2¢), and Hobart (212.3¢).
