The average price of unleaded petrol in Australia rose 9.3¢ to 183.2¢ a litre nationally in the week ending 2 October, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Petrol Prices’ report.
The average national weekly metropolitan retail price rose 9.8¢ to 186.1¢ a litre, while the regional price rose 8.2¢ to 177.3¢ a litre.
The most expensive unleaded in the country was in NSW/ACT at 186.7¢ a litre, followed by the Northern Territory (185.7¢), Queensland (184.9¢), Victoria (184.4¢), South Australia (183.9¢), Tasmania (176.1¢), and Western Australia (167.9¢).
Of the major cities, Perth offered the cheapest unleaded for the week at 165.8¢ a litre, followed by Darwin (170.3¢), Hobart (174.3¢), Canberra (178.5¢), Adelaide (188.8¢), Melbourne (189.1¢), Sydney (189.9¢), and Brisbane (191.4¢).
