Weekly diesel prices

The average weekly diesel fuel price in Australia fell 2¢ to 201.8¢ a litre nationally in the week ending 19 February, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Diesel Prices’ report.

The average national weekly metropolitan retail price fell 2.1¢ to 199.1¢ a litre, while the regional price fell 1.9¢ to 204¢ a litre.

The most expensive diesel in the country was in the Northern Territory at 229.7¢ a litre, followed by Tasmania (211.5¢), NSW/ACT (203¢), Queensland (203¢), Victoria (201.5¢), South Australia (198.2¢), and Western Australia (194.6¢).

Of the major cities, Perth offered the cheapest diesel for the week at 189.6¢ a litre, followed by Adelaide (193.3¢), Sydney (199.2¢), Melbourne (200¢), Brisbane (201.7¢), Hobart (209.8¢), Canberra (212.8¢), and Darwin (215.2¢).
