Weekly petrol prices

The average price of unleaded petrol in Australia rose 6.6¢ to 190.3¢ a litre nationally in the week ending 19 February, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Petrol Prices’ report.

The average national weekly metropolitan retail price rose 8.7¢ to 193.5¢ a litre, while the regional price rose by 2.4¢ 183.8¢ a litre.

The most expensive unleaded in the country was in Victoria at 196¢ a litre, followed by NSW/ACT (194.4¢), the Northern Territory (193.2¢), Queensland (186.5¢), Tasmania (185.3¢), South Australia (183.2¢), and Western Australia (178.1¢).

Of the major cities, Perth offered the cheapest unleaded for the week at 176.5¢ a litre, followed by Darwin (178¢), Canberra (183¢), Adelaide (183.8¢), Hobart (185.2¢), Brisbane (190.2¢), Sydney (200.1¢), and Melbourne (202.4¢).
