Weekly diesel prices

The average weekly diesel fuel price in Australia fell 6¢ to 206.2¢ a litre nationally in the week ending 14 August, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Diesel Prices’ report.

The average national weekly metropolitan retail price fell 6¢ to 204.8¢ a litre, while the regional price fell 6¢ to 207.4¢ a litre.

The most expensive diesel in the country was in the Northern Territory at 231.4¢ a litre, followed by Queensland (207.7¢), NSW/ACT (206.8¢), Victoria (206.6¢), Tasmania (206¢), South Australia (202.9¢), and Western Australia (200.6¢).

Of the major cities, Perth offered the cheapest diesel for the week at 196.3¢ a litre, followed by Adelaide (197.7¢), Sydney (202.6¢), Melbourne (206¢), Brisbane (208.6¢), Hobart (212¢), Canberra (212.5¢), and Darwin (219.4¢).
