The 10th anniversary of Menulog’s annual restaurant awards The Menulogies reveals the food trends in 2021 and “the best” takeaway restaurants in Australia.
The winners of the 2021 Trending Awards, categories selected by Menulog data across Australia, include:
- Best Meal to Order After Getting Dumped – a Dinner for One from Loz’s Fish & Chip Shop in Sunbury, Victoria.
- Best Munchies to Order at 4:20pm – the Sneaky Signature Burger from Sneaky Burger Co in Albion Park NSW.
- Best Noods Sent – the Spicy Noodles from Kinn Green Hills in East Maitland, NSW.
- Top Cuisines Ordered While Watching Award Shows – Chicken Schnitzel from Hanson Pizza and Pasta Bar in Woodville North, SA.
- Cuisine of the Year – Pizza – Hanson Pizza and Pasta Bar in Woodville North, SA.
- Best New Dish – Rashay’s in Greenway, ACT, was the top newcomer with its Biscoff Apple Crumble Pizza.
- Best Supporting Dish – Dirty Fries from Burger Urge in Wodonga, Victoria.
Next up was the coveted People’s Choice Awards. With over 8000 votes cast for favourite local takeaways across the nation, the winners of the People’s Choice Awards include:
- NSW – Absolut Indian, Hammondville
- Victoria – Schnitz Burwood One, Burwood East
- Queensland – Randhawa’s Indian Cuisine, Hope Island
- WA – Mario’s Pizza, Dianella
- SA – Cafe Verde Pizzeria, Fairview Park
- NT – Grill Me Crazy, Alice Springs
- Tasmania – Launnie Kebab House, Kings Meadows
- ACT – fricken, Braddon.

As well as the Trending and People’s Choice Awards, Menulog also announced winners of the Local Awards: data-driven categories revealing the most popular restaurants per cuisine in each state, capital city and region.
