Focus drinks are a new class of beverages claimed to be formulated to maintain levels of focus, concentration and mental performance.
Shine+ is promoted as containing a number of natural ingredients known as ‘nootropics’, including ginkgo biloba, green tea extract (with L-theanine), caffeine, turmeric and other ingredients known to support mental function, such as Siberian ginseng and vitamins B6 and B12.
It contains a low amount of sugar and has no artificial colours, flavours and sweeteners, the company says, adding that this allows drinkers to avoid the ‘caffeine crash’ and maintain prolonged, clean focus for hours.
Shine+ is also marketed as benefiting people globally: recognising that 700 million people worldwide don’t have access to clean water, the company has teamed up with Water Is Life for the Shine4Water campaign. This program is aimed at providing, for every bottle of Shine+ sold, one day of clean drinking water to a person in need.
Shine+ comes in a portable 110ml glass bottle and is available for sale online and in selected stores around Australia. In-store, it is sold individually, with online packs of seven available for $35, 12 for $57, 24 for $96 and 28 for $112.
