Petrol price update

The average price of unleaded petrol in Australia decreased 2¢ to 110.3¢ a litre nationally in the week ending April 3, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Petrol Prices’ report.

The average national weekly metropolitan retail price decreased 2.6¢ to 109.7¢ a litre, with the regional price decreasing 0.8¢ a litre to 111.6¢ a litre.

The most expensive fuel in the country was in Tasmania at 118.5¢ a litre, followed by the NT (118.2¢), WA (114¢), Victoria (111.6¢), Queensland (111.1¢), SA (107.9¢), and NSW/ACT (107.4¢).

Of the major cities, Sydney offered the cheapest fuel for the week at 105.2¢ a litre, followed by Adelaide (106.5¢), Brisbane (109.7¢), Perth (112¢), Melbourne (112.6¢), Darwin (115.4¢), Canberra (117.1¢), and Hobart (117.2¢).
