Petrol price update

The average price of unleaded petrol in Australia decreased 1.5¢ to 124.7¢ a litre nationally in the week ending November 1, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Petrol Prices’ report.

The average national weekly metropolitan retail price decreased 1.7¢ to 122.2¢ a litre, with the regional price decreasing 1¢ a litre to 129.8¢ a litre.

The most expensive fuel in the country was in Tasmania at 135.9¢ a litre, followed by the NT (131.7¢), NSW/ACT (129.6¢), WA (125.8¢), Queensland and SA (122¢) and Victoria (119.8¢).

Of the major cities, Brisbane offered the cheapest fuel for the week at 116.8¢ a litre, followed by Melbourne (118.1¢), Adelaide (119.9¢), Perth (122.5¢), Canberra (129.1¢), Sydney and Darwin (129.6¢), and Hobart (135.3¢).
