Petrol price update

The average price of unleaded petrol in Australia decreased 3¢ to 113.9¢ a litre nationally in the week ending April 24, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Petrol Prices’ report.

The average national weekly metropolitan retail price decreased 4.9¢ to 113.6¢ a litre, with the regional price increasing 0.9¢ a litre to 114.5¢ a litre.

The most expensive fuel in the country was in SA at 121.4¢ a litre, followed by Tasmania (118.7¢), the NT (117.9¢), Queensland (117.6¢), WA (113.5¢), Victoria (111.8¢) and NSW/ACT (110.9¢).

Of the major cities, Sydney offered the cheapest fuel for the week at 108.5¢ a litre, followed by Perth and Melbourne (111.5¢), Darwin (115¢), Canberra (115.9¢), Hobart (117.4¢), Brisbane (118.9¢) and Adelaide (124.4¢).
