Petrol price update

The average price of unleaded petrol in Australia increased 4.1¢ to 114.4¢ a litre nationally in the week ending April 10, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Petrol Prices’ report.

The average national weekly metropolitan retail price increased 5.5¢ to 115.2¢ a litre, with the regional price increasing 1.1¢ a litre to 112.7¢ a litre.

The most expensive fuel in the country was in Victoria at 121.6¢ a litre, followed by Tasmania (118.7¢), the NT (118.4¢), Queensland (116¢), WA (113.6¢), NSW/ACT (110.2¢), and SA (103.4¢).

Of the major cities, Adelaide offered the cheapest fuel for the week at 100.5¢ a litre, followed by Sydney (110.1¢), Perth (111.5¢), Darwin (115.6¢), Brisbane (116.9¢), Canberra (117¢), Hobart (117.4¢), and Melbourne (124.9¢).
