DoorDash celebrates Community Credits program

DoorDash is accepting applications from non-profit organisations across Australia for the next cohort of its Community Credits program, after another year of partnerships helping non-profit organisations feed thousands of individuals in need of food assistance.

Launched in 2021 in Australia, the Community Credits program provides greater access and equity for communities who struggle to source meals, essentials, and other items. Through the program, DoorDash provides gift cards to nonprofits that work to serve their communities today and every day, having distributed over $220,000 worth of credits to 22 groups since first launching in the country.

2024/25 has been another significant year in DoorDash’s mission to empower organisations addressing key social issues like hunger, domestic violence, and homelessness by donating over $120,000 in credits.

One organisation which has demonstrated the impact of the Community Credits program, out of the 12 total recipients, is The Salvation Army which assisted over 200 people using the credits allocated to them worth $25,000. Furthermore, a portion of the allocated credits have also been directed towards several outposts servicing regional NSW and Qld to provide essential support to those impacted by the Ex-Tropical Cyclone Alfred.

“Thanks to the generous support from DoorDash, our Queensland centres have been able to purchase essential grocery and pantry items for local families doing it tough,” said Rendle Williams, Qld Salvation Army spokesperson.

“We’ve also hosted community dinners and connection events to bring people together and offer a sense of hope and belonging as they recover from the impacts of the ex-cyclone. We’re truly grateful for this partnership and the difference it’s making to our mission on the ground.”

Other recipients of the DoorDash Community Credits in 2024/25 included organisations such as the Centre for Asylum Seekers Refugees and Detainees (CARAD), First Nations Response, Kids Giving Back, and OzHarvest, among others.

Simon Rossi, Vice President APAC at DoorDash said: “DoorDash is committed to furthering our goal of creating greater access to meals and essentials for those in need. We are immensely proud of the Community Credits program and the support it provides to the people and organisations who have a profound impact on the lives of Australians everyday.”

Organisations who would like to apply for the Community Credits can start by completing this form to be considered for a donation.
