Bowser Bound Rochester, Victoria, the newly rebranded service station and cafe, has been praised for its role in supporting the local community’s recovery efforts following devastating floods in October of last year.
The Bowser Bean team, which took over operations during the floods, worked tirelessly to clean up and refurbish the site.
“Seeing the devastating impact to the town first-hand, prompted the Bowser Bean team to deploy their food and coffee trailer. The trailer was used to provide much-needed sustenance to the town’s residents and emergency service workers. The Bowser Bean team stocked the trailer with free burgers, sandwiches, and coffee and this proved to be a lifeline for many struggling families and labourers,” says Vantage Fuels and Bowser Bean Managing Director Haydn Tierney.
As part of the clean-up operation, the service station was refurbished and rebranded as Bowser Bound Rochester. The new fit-out includes updated counters and cabinetry, shelving, dining furniture, cooking equipment, coffee equipment, and tech.
“The site has been well received by the local community and the new food and coffee offer has proved to be very popular,” Mr Tierney said.
In January, the recovery effects of the Bowser Bean team were recognised by the Campaspe Shire Council as part of its Australia Day Awards. Bowser Bean Managing Director Haydn Tierney was also invited back to Rochester this month by the local council for a Coffee Kombi activation at a community park reopening ceremony.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr Tierney praised the resolve of the people of Rochester and the response of his team to the crisis. He also reaffirmed Bowser Bean’s commitment to supporting the ongoing recovery efforts in Rochester and providing employment opportunities for the local community.
“Bowser Bound Rochester is a shining example of how businesses can support and uplift local communities in times of crisis. The Bowser Bean team’s tireless efforts and commitment to the people of Rochester are a testament to their values and dedication to making a positive impact in their communities,” he said.
