The average price of unleaded petrol in Australia fell by 1.6¢ to 129.9.5¢ a litre nationally in the week ending February 12, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s Weekly Petrol Prices report.
The average national weekly metropolitan retail price fell 1.9¢ to 127.5¢ a litre, with the regional price falling 1¢ to 134.7¢ a litre.
The most expensive fuel in the country was in Tasmania at 144.6¢ a litre, followed by the Northern Territory (141.8¢), Queensland (133.7¢), Western Australia (133.5¢), Victoria (129.7¢), NSW/ACT (126.5¢) and South Australia (123.7¢).
Of the major cities, Sydney offered the cheapest fuel for the week at 118.8¢ a litre, followed by Adelaide (121.6¢), Melbourne (130.1¢), Brisbane (131.1¢), Perth (132.9¢), Canberra (139.7¢), Darwin (142.2¢) and Hobart (143.7¢).
