The average price of unleaded petrol in Australia increased by 4.5¢ to 126.4¢ a litre nationally in the week ending June 12, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Petrol Prices’ report.
The average national weekly metropolitan retail price increased 5.1¢ to 127.1¢ a litre, with the regional price increasing 1.4¢ to 121.7¢ a litre.
The most expensive fuel in the country was in Queensland at 128.9¢ a litre, followed by the NT (128.5¢), WA (126.6¢), Tasmania (125.6¢), NSW/ACT (124.2¢), Victoria (122.4¢), and SA (120.3¢).
Of the major cities, Adelaide offered the cheapest fuel for the week at 113.6¢ a litre, followed by Darwin (119.5¢), Perth (123¢), Hobart (125.5¢) Sydney (127.5¢), Canberra and Melbourne (129¢) and Brisbane (132.9¢).
