The average price of unleaded petrol in Australia increased 3.5¢ to 115.6¢ a litre nationally in the week ending February 14, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Petrol Prices’ report.
The average national weekly metropolitan retail price increased 5.4¢ to 114.6¢ a litre, with the regional price decreasing 0.2¢ a litre to 116.3¢ a litre.
The most expensive fuel in the country was in the NT at 123.5¢ a litre, followed by Tasmania (122.5¢), Queensland and Victoria (116.1¢), NSW/ACT (115.2¢), WA (114.4¢), and SA (107.2¢).
Of the major cities, Adelaide offered the cheapest fuel for the week at 104.4¢ a litre, followed by Perth (111.1¢), Sydney (115.5¢), Brisbane (115.7¢), Melbourne (116.6¢), Canberra (120¢), Darwin (121.8¢), and Hobart (122.1¢).
