The average weekly diesel fuel price in Australia remained at 201.4¢ a litre nationally in the week ending 31 March, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Diesel Prices’ report.
The average national weekly metropolitan retail price remained at 199.6¢ a litre, while the regional price rose 0.1¢ to 202.9¢ a litre.
The most expensive diesel in the country was in the Northern Territory at 219.3¢ a litre, followed by Tasmania (206.3¢), NSW/ACT (201.8¢), Queensland (201.8¢), Victoria (201.1¢), South Australia (199.6¢), and Western Australia (198.2¢).
Of the major cities, Perth offered the cheapest diesel for the week at 194¢ a litre, followed by Adelaide (195.7¢), Darwin (199¢), Sydney (198.5¢), Melbourne (201.5¢), Brisbane (201.5¢), Hobart (205.7¢), and Canberra (207.7¢).
