Diesel prices rise

Diesel prices rose in Australia by 2¢ to 180.5¢ a litre nationally in the week ending 27 February, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Diesel Prices’ report.

The average national weekly metropolitan retail price rose 1.9¢ to 180¢ a litre, while the regional rose 2.1¢ to 180.9¢ a litre.

The most expensive diesel in the country was in the Northern Territory at 194.1¢ a litre, followed by Tasmania (188.7¢), Victoria (180.7¢), NSW/ACT (180.1¢), Queensland (180.1¢), Western Australia (179¢), and South Australia (178.5¢).

Of the major cities, Perth offered the cheapest diesel for the week at 177.4¢ a litre, followed by Adelaide (178.1¢), Sydney (178.8¢), Melbourne (179.9¢), Brisbane (180.8¢), Canberra (183.4¢), Darwin (188.4¢), and Hobart (191.1¢).
