Weekly petrol prices

The average price of unleaded petrol in Australia rose 1.7¢ to 166.2¢ a litre nationally in the week ending 21 November, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Petrol Prices’ report.

The average national weekly metropolitan retail price rose 2.5¢ to 166.2¢, while the regional price fell 0.3¢ to 166¢ a litre.

The most expensive unleaded in the country was in the Northern Territory and Tasmania at 177¢ a litre, followed by Western Australia (171.1¢) Queensland (168.5¢), Victoria (167.8¢), NSW/ACT (162.8¢), and South Australia (158.2¢).

Of the major cities, Adelaide offered the cheapest unleaded for the week at 156¢ a litre, followed by Sydney (159.6¢), Darwin (169.2¢), Brisbane (169.6¢), Melbourne (169.7¢), Perth (171.1¢), Canberra (171.8¢), and Hobart (177.8¢).
