Weekly diesel prices

The average price of diesel fuel in Australia remained at 163.8¢ a litre nationally in the week ending 21 November, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Diesel Prices’ report.

The average national weekly metropolitan retail price rose by 0.1¢ to 163.2¢ a litre, while the regional remained the same at 164.3¢ a litre.

The most expensive diesel in the country was in the Northern Territory at 176.3¢ a litre, followed by Tasmania (171.7¢), Western Australia (164.5¢), Queensland (163.7¢), NSW/ACT (163.2¢), Victoria (162.6¢), and South Australia (161.8¢).

Of the major cities, Adelaide offered the cheapest diesel for the week at 159.3¢ a litre, followed by Sydney (161.1¢), Melbourne (162¢), Perth (163.4¢), Brisbane (164.2¢), Darwin (165.5¢), Canberra (167.4¢), and Hobart (174.1¢).
