Streets Ice Cream has introduced a new price point for the popular ice-cream to bring new consumers to the category.
“We are always looking for opportunities to innovate in the ice-cream category,” Streets Ice Cream Marketing Director Anthony Toovey said.
“This is a very competitive market and it’s important we provide consumers with even more reasons to love Cornetto,” he said.
“The $2 price point is about unlocking growth for Cornetto and bringing new consumers to the category through this ‘loose change’ offer. We believe that this initiative has the potential to significantly grow the ice-cream category and reconnect consumers with ice-cream on a more regular basis.”
The $2 Cornetto campaign will be supported by a multimillion dollar communications program including refreshed point of sale in-store.
As one of Australia’s best-known ice-creams, Cornetto has been a favourite around the world since 1965. Classic Vanilla is Australia’s most popular Cornetto, but this classic will now be joined by Cornetto Strawberry Choc.
A combination of strawberry and chocolate twisted in a wafer cone, topped with rich chocolate sauce and choc chips, and finished with the signature choc tip, Cornetto Strawberry Choc will join Classic Chocolate and Classic Vanilla as a permanent flavour in single-serve format, also under the $2 offer, from ice-cream freezers in leading P&C stores across the nation.
