The average price of unleaded petrol in Australia fell 5.4¢ to 206.7¢ a litre nationally in the week ending 5 May, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Petrol Prices’ report.
The average national weekly metropolitan retail price fell 7.5¢ to 209.6¢ a litre, while the regional price fell 1.2¢ to 200.9¢ a litre.
The most expensive unleaded in the country was in Queensland at 215.1¢ a litre, followed by Victoria (209.1¢), the Northern Territory (208.3¢), NSW/ACT (205.7¢), Tasmania (204.8¢), South Australia (198.2¢), and Western Australia (195.3¢).
Of the major cities, Perth offered the cheapest unleaded for the week at 194.2¢ a litre, followed by Darwin (196.5¢), Adelaide (198.1¢), Hobart (205.4¢), Sydney (206.4¢), Canberra (210.6¢), Melbourne (214.4¢), and Brisbane (222.8¢).
