Weekly diesel prices

The average weekly diesel fuel price in Australia fell 0.5¢ 201.9¢ a litre nationally in the week ending 5 May, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Diesel Prices’ report.

The average national weekly metropolitan retail price fell 0.5¢ to 200.1¢ a litre, while the regional price rose 0.6¢ to 203.3¢ a litre.

The most expensive diesel in the country was in the Northern Territory at 220.4¢ a litre, followed by Tasmania (207.2¢), NSW/ACT (202.5¢), Queensland (202.2¢), Victoria (201.9¢), South Australia (199.9¢), and Western Australia (198¢).

Of the major cities, Perth offered the cheapest diesel for the week at 194¢ a litre, followed by Adelaide (196.9¢), Darwin (199.4¢), Sydney (199.7¢), Brisbane (201.7¢), Melbourne (201.9¢), Hobart (207.3¢), and Canberra (211.2¢).
