The average price of unleaded petrol in Australia fell 1.3¢ to 173.9¢ a litre nationally in the week ending 9 July, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Petrol Prices’ report.
The average national weekly metropolitan retail price fell 1.4¢ to 171.6¢ a litre, while the regional price fell by 1¢ to 178.6¢ a litre.
The most expensive unleaded in the country was in the Northern Territory at 191.1¢ a litre, followed by Tasmania (184.3¢), NSW/ACT (177.8¢), Western Australia (175.5¢), South Australia (172.3¢), Victoria (170.4¢), and Queensland (170.2¢).
Of the major cities, Brisbane offered the cheapest unleaded for the week at 167.1¢ a litre, followed by Melbourne (168.2¢), Adelaide (170.6¢), Perth (174¢), Sydney (176.1¢), Darwin (176.8¢), Hobart (182.3¢), and Canberra (183¢).
