The average price of unleaded petrol in Australia rose 0.1¢ to 194.9¢ a litre nationally in the week ending 7 April, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Petrol Prices’ report.
The average national weekly metropolitan retail price fell 0.4¢ to 194.5¢ a litre, while the regional price rose 1.3¢ to 195.8¢ a litre.
The most expensive unleaded in the country was in the Northern Territory at 205.9¢ a litre, followed by Tasmania (201.1¢), South Australia (196.8¢), NSW/ACT (196.3¢), Queensland (195.1¢), Western Australia (192.6¢), and Victoria (192.5¢).
Of the major cities, Perth offered the cheapest unleaded for the week at 191.3¢ a litre, followed by Darwin (192.2¢), Melbourne (193.3¢), Sydney (194.3¢), Brisbane (195.3¢), Adelaide (196.8¢), Hobart (200.9¢), and Canberra (209.7¢).
