Weekly petrol prices

The average price of unleaded petrol in Australia fell to 125.9¢ a litre nationally in the week ending October 13, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s Weekly Petrol Prices report.

The average national weekly metropolitan retail price fell 6.3¢ to 125.4¢ a litre, with the regional price decreased 0.9¢ to 127¢ a litre.

The most expensive fuel in the country was in Tasmania at 135.7¢ a litre, followed by the Northern Territory (131.1¢), Western Australia (129.8¢), Queensland (127.7¢), NSW/ACT (125.4¢), Victoria (124.4¢) and South Australia (119.7¢).

Of the major cities, Adelaide offered the cheapest fuel for the week at 117.8¢ a litre, followed by Melbourne (123.9¢), Sydney (125.6¢), Brisbane (127¢), Darwin (127.9¢), Canberra (128.2¢), Perth (129.2¢) and Hobart (135.2¢).
