The average price of unleaded petrol in Australia fell 0.1¢ to 187.9¢ a litre nationally in the week ending 6 August, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Petrol Prices’ report.
The average national weekly metropolitan retail price fell 1.9¢ to 186.8¢ a litre, while the regional price rose by 3.5¢ to 190¢ a litre.
The most expensive unleaded in the country was in the Northern Territory at 202.2¢ a litre, followed by Tasmania (196.1¢), Queensland (190.9¢), Western Australia (188.8¢), NSW/ACT (187.5¢), Victoria (185.6¢), and South Australia (183.7¢).
Of the major cities, Adelaide offered the cheapest unleaded for the week at 181.8¢ a litre, followed by Sydney (184.7¢), Melbourne (185.2¢), Perth (188.3¢), Darwin (190.7¢), Canberra (191.1¢), Brisbane (191.5¢), and Hobart (194.7¢).
