The average price of unleaded petrol in Australia rose 0.1¢ to 179.3¢ a litre nationally in the week ending 6 April, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Petrol Prices’ report.
The average national weekly metropolitan retail price rose 0.3¢ to 178.9¢ a litre, while the regional price fell 0.1¢ to 180.3¢ a litre.
The most expensive unleaded in the country was in the Northern Territory at 195.8¢ a litre, followed by Tasmania (183.7¢), Queensland (182.1¢), South Australia (181.9¢), NSW/ACT (178.5¢), Western Australia (178¢), and Victoria (177.2¢).
Of the major cities, Sydney offered the cheapest unleaded for the week at 176.3¢ a litre, followed by Perth (176.7¢), Melbourne (177.8¢), Hobart (181.1¢), Darwin (181.4¢), Canberra (182.5¢), Brisbane (182.5¢), and Adelaide (182.8¢).
