The average price of unleaded petrol in Australia rose 3.3¢ to 183.9¢ a litre nationally in the week ending 6 March, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Petrol Prices’ report.
The average national weekly metropolitan retail price rose 3.3¢ to 184.4¢, while the regional price rose 3.1¢ to 182.9¢ a litre.
The most expensive unleaded in the country was in the Northern Territory and Tasmania at 194.7¢ a litre, followed by Victoria (188.3¢), Western Australia (183.4¢), NSW/ACT (182.8¢), South Australia (182.1¢), and Queensland (179.2¢).
Of the major cities, Brisbane offered the cheapest unleaded for the week at 178.2¢ a litre, followed by Sydney (181.6¢), Adelaide (182.5¢), Perth (182.8¢), Canberra (188.6¢), Darwin (189.7¢), Melbourne (191.3¢), and Hobart (196.9¢).
