Weekly petrol prices

The average price of unleaded petrol in Australia fell 4.3¢ to 184.2¢ a litre nationally in the week ending 5 March, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Petrol Prices’ report.

The average national weekly metropolitan retail price fell 6¢ to 184.9¢ a litre, while the regional price fell by 1¢ to 182.6¢ a litre.

The most expensive unleaded in the country was in the Northern Territory at 194.6¢ a litre, followed by Queensland (191¢), Tasmania (186.7¢), Victoria (186.2¢), NSW/ACT (183.3¢), Western Australia (177.3¢), and South Australia (171.4¢).

Of the major cities, Adelaide offered the cheapest unleaded for the week at 167.9¢ a litre, followed by Perth (175.6¢), Darwin (179.8¢), Sydney (181.8¢), Canberra (183.6¢), Hobart (186.3¢), Melbourne (189.2¢), and Brisbane (196.9¢).
