The average price of unleaded petrol in Australia rose 1.6¢ to 132.8¢ a litre nationally in the week ending 28 February, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Petrol Prices’ report.
The average national weekly metropolitan retail price rose 1.9¢ to 132.8¢ a litre, with the regional price rising by 1.2¢ to 132.8¢ a litre.
The most expensive unleaded in the country was in Queensland at 145.1¢ a litre, followed by the NT (141.0¢), Tasmania (133.3¢), Western Australia (132.9¢), NSW/ACT (130.5¢), Victoria (127.6¢), and South Australia (127.1¢).
Of the major cities, Adelaide offered the cheapest unleaded for the week at 126.1¢ a litre, followed by Sydney (127.2¢), Melbourne (127.4¢), Darwin (130.1¢), Canberra (130.9¢), Perth (132.7¢), Hobart (133.1¢) and Brisbane (151.4¢).
