The average price of unleaded petrol in Australia fell 3.7¢ to 179.2¢ a litre nationally in the week ending 30 March, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Petrol Prices’ report.
The average national weekly metropolitan retail price fell 5.4¢ to 178.6¢ a litre, while the regional price fell 0.4¢ to 180.4¢ a litre.
The most expensive unleaded in the country was in the Northern Territory at 196.4¢ a litre, followed by Queensland (185.3¢), Tasmania (183.9¢), NSW/ACT (183.5¢), Western Australia (176.8¢), Victoria (171.5¢), and South Australia (171.4¢).
Of the major cities, Adelaide offered the cheapest unleaded for the week at 168.9¢ a litre, followed by Melbourne (169.9¢), Perth (175.1¢), Hobart (181.1¢), Darwin (181.4¢), Sydney (185.3¢), Brisbane (187.2¢), and Canberra (188.1¢).
