The average price of unleaded petrol in Australia fell 0.8¢ to 169.6¢ a litre nationally in the week ending 30 January, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Petrol Prices’ report.
The average national weekly metropolitan retail price fell 2.8¢ to 169.6¢, while the regional price rose 3.3¢ to 169.6¢ a litre.
The most expensive unleaded in the country was in the Northern Territory at 179.4¢ a litre, followed by Tasmania (178.2¢), Western Australia (173.2¢), NSW/ACT (173.1¢), Queensland (171.4¢), Victoria (163.7¢), and South Australia (161.3¢).
Of the major cities, Adelaide offered the cheapest unleaded for the week at 159.9¢ a litre, followed by Melbourne (162.8¢), Darwin (171.6¢), Canberra (172.2¢), Brisbane (173.3¢), Perth (174¢), Sydney (174.3¢), and Hobart (181.4¢).
