The average price of unleaded petrol in Australia rose 3.8¢ to 196.5¢ a litre nationally in the week ending 3 March, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Petrol Prices’ report.
The average national weekly metropolitan retail price rose 5.7¢ to 197.2¢ a litre, while the regional price rose 0.2¢ to 195.2¢ a litre.
The most expensive unleaded in the country was in the Northern Territory at 206¢ a litre, followed by NSW/ACT (202.4¢), South Australia (200.1¢), Tasmania (199¢), Queensland (197.3¢), Western Australia (190.1¢), and Victoria (189.7¢).
Of the major cities, Perth offered the cheapest unleaded for the week at 188.1¢ a litre, followed by Melbourne (189.1¢), Darwin (191.9¢), Hobart (198.8¢), Brisbane (199.2¢), Adelaide (203.1¢), Sydney (205.7¢), and Canberra (210.1¢).
