The average price of unleaded petrol in Australia fell 4.3¢ to 192.4¢ a litre nationally in the week ending 3 December, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Petrol Prices’ report.
The average national weekly metropolitan retail price fell 5.1¢ to 192¢ a litre, while the regional price fell 2.5¢ to 193.3¢ a litre.
The most expensive unleaded in the country was in the Northern Territory at 206.1¢ a litre, followed by Queensland (202.9¢), South Australia (199¢), Tasmania (192.5¢), Victoria (189.7¢), Western Australia (188.7¢), and NSW/ACT (187.3¢).
Of the major cities, Sydney offered the cheapest unleaded for the week at 181.5¢ a litre, followed by Perth (186.8¢), Melbourne (189¢), Hobart (189.1¢), Darwin (191.9¢), Canberra (194.6¢), Adelaide (202.4¢), and Brisbane (208.3¢).
